Purchase Eligibility
|
It is your responsibility to be in compliance with all Federal, state, and local laws when using this site.
You will need to check with your Local Transfer Dealer concerning Laws governing your state if you are not sure of a specific item. Your local dealer or local law enforcement should be able to assist you.
You must be an adult who is able to enter into a contract. Anyone desiring to purchase a firearm must be able to pass a background check (the following link will take you to the ATF web site for more info. ATF Online Of course, there are age limits on the sale of certain items. And certain types of items are illegal in certain places - for example 'assault weapons' cannot be sold in some states and certain types of ammunition are illegal in certain states and cities. Check here for California Firearms Laws. and CA Certified Handguns The ATF has compiled information on the various state laws. Again, it is your responsibility to make sure that you comply with the laws of your country, city, and state. We do not tolerate attempted illegal activity here!
We are not responsible for making sure you are eligible. You must check with your local transfer dealer to validate your eligibility prior to shipment.
You DON'T have to be a dealer to buy a firearm. If you are not a licensed dealer (also called an FFL Holder), all you must do is make arrangements with an FFL holder in your state to receive the item and transfer it to you.
In order to purchase anything from us, you must be an adult at least 18 years of age and be able and viable to enter into a legal contract.
Federal Law states that you must be at least 18 years old to purchase a long gun and 21 years of age to purchase a handgun. There are also Laws pertaining to the purhcase of ammunition. Local laws and ordincances may also be more restrictive than Federal Law. It is your responsibility to be sure that you follow all Laws pertaining to your area.

_How_to_Purchase
|
The process for ordering online is fairly simple.
For firearms:
- Place your order online.
- Find a local FFL dealer who is willing to do what is called a pass-through transfer. Basically for a small fee they will go through the process of a background check and make sure that all federal, state, and local laws are satisfied. Local gun and outdoor sporting shops are likely FFL's. If you haven't found a dealer, we can send you a list of dealers in your local area. If you need help finding a dealer in your area click here to search.
- Your local dealer must send me a copy of their license information and shipping address. (Must be current FFL type 01 or 02 info and be sent via US MAIL, FAX 207-782-9011 or EMAIL.
- Download and print our firearms purchase agreement and you sign and send back to us. (Scanned and sent via EMAIL service@gunsrus.net , Fax (206)-279-1608, or US Mail American Hunting and Firearms

- Once I receive your selected transfer dealer's information, I ship the firarms to that FFL.
- The dealer calls you and transfers the firearm to you. (Depending on the State, this may involve a background check, government filing fees, and fees from your dealer for the transfer service.) Any fees or taxes are your reponsiblity.
Federal law mandates that this process applies to all online and/or interstate purchases.

While there is a middle man process, it satisfies all applicable laws, and turns out to not be that complicated at all. What makes purchasing online great is that you usually can get a better price without too much hassle.

*Note: Some items have certain legal limitations in some states. For example, there are age limitations on Air guns, Paintball Markers, Ammunition, knives, and other items. There are also local ordinances that may limit certain items.
In order to purchase from us you must be an adult at least 18 years of age, and able to enter into a contract. Furthermore, you must also be legally eligible to purchase the items you are requesting.
In buying Firearms or Ammunition from American Hunting and Firearms you hereby certify, attest, and agree to the following:
Weapons and ammunition can be dangerous and can injure or kill. You hereby assume responsibility of your own personal risk and liability, risk to others, your own property, and the property of others when
using a gun. Use guns with care. Handle them safely.
You hereby certify that:
- you will hold blameless and indemnify American Hunting and Firearms it's owner(s), and any other party with interest in American Hunting and Firearms for
- any damage to property, personal injury, or death that may occur from possession or use of any firearms or ammunition you receive from American Hunting and Firearms.
- any legal ramifications including but not limited to legal action against you, criminal prosecution, fines, confiscation, impoundments, deportation, and any other legal or civil action against you regarding your possession or use or anyone else's possession or use of Firearms or Ammunition that you receive from American Hunting and Firearms.
- and will not blame or seek any claim against American Hunting and Firearms for any reason whatsoever and you will take full responsibility for any legal action or claim regarding the use or possession of any firearm or ammunition you purchase from American Hunting and Firearms.
- You hereby assume any and all responsibility to ensure that you fulfill and abide by any and all laws and ordinances regarding your possession and use of any firearms or ammunition that you purchase from American Hunting and Firearms.
ATF legal statement
Subject to penalties provided by law, I swear that, in the case of any firearm or ammunition other than a shotgun or a rifle, I am twenty-one years or more of age, or that, in the case of a shotgun or a rifle, I
am eighteen years or more of age; that I am not prohibited by the provisions of chapter 44 of title 18, United States Code, from receiving a firearm or ammunition in interstate or foreign commerce;
and that my receipt of this firearm will not be in violation of any statute of the State and published ordinance applicable to the locality in which I reside.

Export policy
|
|
Firearms:
We currently do not export firearms outside the 50 states of the US. However, we will work with FFL's who ship internationally. You are responsible for all fees, customs, foreign and domestic government filings, tariffs, shipping costs and any other fee incurred in the export and import of firearms. You will only be charged by us fo rthe cost of goods purchased and shipping to one receiver, the FFL who facilitates the international transfer.
Shipments to the following countries are usually no problem. Japan, Australia, New Zealand, and French Polynesia.
Military style weapons such as any AR-15 type frames are usually not allowed ot ship outside the US due to State Department Regualations.
Optics:
There are many regulations regarding the export of certain types of optics to certain countries. This includes certain types of rifle scopes.
Blades:
We do not ship any knikes, swords, and other bladed weapons outside the US.
Non-lethal Defense:
We do not ship any non-lethal defense items such as mace, pepper spray, clubs, or tasers outside the US.
All export policies are subject to US regulations. We can not and are not responsible for any foreign regulations. In purchasing from our company, you hereby indemnify, hold blameless, and take full responsibility for compliance with all laws outside the US pertaining to any business you do with our company.

Finding a Dealer
|
Virtually anyone who is involved in the sale or distribution of firearms is an FFL holder, including gun shops and some sporting goods stores. By contacting the FFL holder before ordering, the buyer can verify that all state and federal laws will be observed. For most firearms, the buyer must be able to pass a background check. If you do not know of a Local Firearms Dealer in your area when you purchase from us, email us and we will assist you, NO PROBLEM.
Non-firearm items, such as air guns, knives, ammunition, antique guns that were built in 1898 or earlier, accessories, and some gun parts do not require transfer by a licensed dealer. There are age restrictions on many of these items, and you will be asked to verify your age to the seller before you can purchase the item. In general, you must be 18 years old to buy items on this site. To buy Pistol ammunition, you must be at least 21 years old; at least 18 years old for Rifle or shotgun ammunition.

Law Enforcement and Military Pricing

In support of those who work to protect us, we also offer discounts to those in Law Enforcement, Military, and certain governemental employees. Usually the price will be free shipping. This pricing is regardless of whether it is for official business purposes or not. This discount pricing is available on select items when possible. We do supply high-end weapons for Official Law Enforcement purposes. Please contact us for this type of discount pricing.

Layaway Policy
|
We will provide layaway on select items at our discretion only. Payment amount and schedule will determined by American Hunting and Firearms. Payment will include Total price of merchandise, shipping cost, local Maine sales tax (if applicable), and any other applicable fee. Layaway plans do not impose any interest rates.
Payment must be made on schedule at the prescribed amounts by certified funds or automatic credit card billing setup by us at our discretion. Failure to pay on time will result in forfeiture of merchandise reservation, and forfeiture of all payments made. Once forfeiture has been determined by us, official notice will be given via Email and US mail. Once forfeiture has been determined by us, forfeiture is final, and no recourse may be made to retain merchandise, refund payments, redeem layaway plan, or apply payments to another purchase. Participation in a layaway plan means that you agree to the terms setforth herein.

before ordering these products. American Hunting and Firearms does not warrant that anyone may legally purchase, possess, or transfer black powder guns, black powder propellants, ammunition, firearm components, or certain

We require that payment be recieved by us BEFORE we ship merchandise or process any paperwork.
Credit Card Purchasing, online:
We provide you with a secure, on-line link to pay with a credit card through a secure online payment service. You will also be emailed a receipt as soon as your card is processed.
We do not charge extra for using Credit Cards.
We are not responsible for misprints, typographical errors, or mis-quoted pricing.
Check Payments:
We will accept checks as payment; however, we will not process or ship your merchandise until we have confirmation that your check has cleared.
Cash Payments:
We will accept cash payments on local purchases only. DO NOT SEND CASH IN THE MAIL. We will not accept it.
Bartering/trading:
Currently we do not barter or trade merchandise. Nor do we normally participate in what is referred to as pawnbrokering.

Ordering from American Hunting and Firearms is as safe as online ordering standards can be. American Hunting and Firearms uses secure payment technology run by a reputable online merchant service. All personal and sensitive information is secured using their process that protects your information before it is even sent across the internet. As you proceed to check out, you will see a lock (MS Explorer) or a solid key (Netscape) appear at the bottom of your browser. It is your way of knowing that the information you are about to send over the internet is secured. If you do not see that your security indicator is on, we encourage you to cease the purchase transaction. We encourage you to protect yourself in any online purchasing you do with any vendor.
Because your computer may be affected in ways outside of our control, American Hunting and Firearms is not responsible for disclosure of information, identity theft, or costs that may result from such criminal activities. We are not responsible to protect you or your computer from information theft, identity theft, or hacking. Having said that, we take reasonable measure to ensure our systems are protected. We use reputable online merchants to help ensure that your information is not stolen.
PRIVACY:
We at American Hunting and Firearms value your trust. We will NEVER sell, trade, lease, rent or otherwise give away any of our customer's private information.
However, American Hunting and Firearms and/or your local dealer MAY perform mandatory background checks when required by LAW. This MAY require submission of personal information to the FBI, ATF, police, and other Federal State and Local Authorities.
We also may be required by Law enforcement and other Government agencies on certain occasions to provide business transaction information which may contain your information. This will only be done in compliance of Law. This does necessarily mean that any sort of action will be taken that would affect you unless you have broken the Law.
On that note, if you provide false information, try or suggest anything illegal, or commit a crime with a Firearm, I will turn you over to the authorities faster than you can say the word "felony".

Return_and_Refund_Policy
|
Please inspect all merchandise before leaving your local Dealer's location. If the merchandise was damaged in any way during shipment do not accept it. Leave it at the dealer location and notify us immediately. We will coordinate with the carrier and deal and have a replacement sent out as soon as possible based on stock availability along with a return authorization tag for the item. If you accept the item, you are accepting the condition as received. If there is a problem with the item, you must go through normal manufacturer warranty channels: All warranties are through their respective manufacturers and/or distributors. The only exception is used items in which the warranty will be clearly stated in the item description.
We want your experience with our company to be a good one, so we will do all in our power to correct anything that goes wrong and make it right. In the event that American Hunting and Firearms makes a mistake on your order, we will pay the return shipping charges (Standard Services Only). For safety reasons and Federal regulations, returns on some items are restricted. If you have received the wrong item or the item was not as we described it then you must notify us by email at: service@gunsrus.net If we find that it was our error a correct replacement will be sent out as soon as possible based on stock availability along with a return authorization tag for the item.
ALL OTHER RETURNS OR CANCELLATIONS are subject to a restocking fee of 15% plus shipping costs if applicable.
Note - inspection must be done at your Dealer's location when you recieve the firearm for us to be able to return the product. If you walk out of the dealer's location with the firearm, you are accepting it's condition as-is. Unless otherwise specified, no return will be given, and any functional issues will be subject to manufacturer's direct warranty.
Your paperwork inculding your paperwork from your transfer dealer and your signed copy of our purchase agreement must be received within 5 business days from the date of your order. Otherwise your order may be cancelled and you may incur restocking fees.

Sales Tax Policy
|
|
If you are a resident of Maine, you must pay the current regular Sales Tax. Other states may impose a sales tax or use tax or fees. Those fees are your responsibility to your state. American Hunting and firearms is not responsible for collection or filing of these taxes.

Shipping Policy
|
We require payment in full before we ship any merchandise.
At our discretion, we use various methods of shipping, including US Mail, UPS, Fedex, and other parcel services. You must provide your physical address for items that can be directly shipped to you, such as non-firearm items. Please provide your mailing address so that we may send you necessary documents.
For firearms: Once we have received your payment, and a Current Signed Copy of the FFL dealer receiving your firearm, and a current signed copy of the firearms purchase agreement from you, we will arrange the shipment of your item immediately (excluding weekends and holidays, of course).
For other items: Once we have received your payment, we will process and ship your order quickly.
If there are any complications, or items are backordered, we will notify you via email. You may chose to wait, cancel your order at no cost, accept and alternative item of equal features and value, or purchase an item of greater value that is available.
Your paperwork inculding your paperwork from your transfer dealer and your signed copy of our purchase agreement must be received within 5 business days from the date of your order. Otherwise your order may be cancelled and you may incur restocking fees.

Shipping Price

This shipping amount will be automatically added in when you purchase online. These rates apply to the continental United States (Alaska and Hawaii shipping rates will vary, please contact us for these rates).

Warranty Policy
|
|
All warranties are through their respective manufacturers and/or distributors. If you have any warranty issues, you will be able to deal directly with the manufacturer. WE DO NOT FACILITATE, NOR ARE WE REQUIRED TO, NOR ARE WE ALLOWED TO FACILITATE ANY WARRANTY ISSUES. Manufacturers deal directly with you. There may be local gunsmiths and other types of dealers in your area that can facilitate warranty service.
